Derby City Council and UNISON are working together with the leaders of schools affected by UNISON’s consultative ballot with the aim of reaching a solution that is acceptable to UNISON members in those schools and operationally benefits the schools, and ultimately the children of Derby.
The Council is committed to continuing to build strong relationships with the schools and UNISON, and senior HR officers and UNISON are working together closely to achieve this.
Good progress is being made and we are hopeful of reaching agreement in the coming weeks. UNISON can confirm that there are no plans to proceed to a full ballot for industrial action.
