School Support Staff Industrial Action Information – 5 January 2017

Our School Support staff have Planned Collective action in Mackworth Ward on Thursday 5 January 2017.

In response to member requests we have decided to target the Mackworth area tomorrow as part of our collective action.

Please meet at the Derby Homes Community Room, Streatham Road, Mackworth, DERBY DE22 4AZ (note there is only on street parking and you may need to park in adjoining streets and walk a short distance.) Meet  at 9.30 am for a briefing and refreshments prior to campaigning in groups.

It is very important that as many members as possible support this action, to achieve coverage of the area and as UNISON members it is everyone’s responsibility to take part. We are only able to use the venue until midday and therefore we aim to have completed the activity by then.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, and don’t forget those T-shirts!

Message of support for School Support Staff Industrial Action from Dave Prentis

“As the new year begins, I want to send you the support of all UNISON members around the country.

The way you have been treated by your local council is appalling. They need to stop dragging their feet and start this new year by making a proper offer.

I know none of you have taken industrial action lightly – but you have my full support, and the support of your union, every step of the way.”
