Industrial action over pay

The recent ballot for industrial action over NJC pay has closed and the results are as follows:

Voting FOR strike action: 49,836 (58.7%)

Voting AGAINST strike action 35,062 (41.3%)

UNISON nationally has confirmed that its local government and school support staff members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be taking one day of strike action on 10 July in support of better pay.

There will be three main picket lines in Derby on the day:

Stores Road Depot 05:00- 09:30
The Council House 07:45-11:00
Middleton House 07:45-11-00

If any of these locations are your workplace you can join the picket line there. If you and your colleagues wish to have a picket line at your workplace that isn’t one of these three, please contact the branch office and we can help to facilitate this.

RALLY FOR PUBLIC SERVICES IN DERBY

On 10th July, we need to show the public that we deserve decent pay. We would request that all members taking action attend our “Rally for Public Services” in the Market Square between 11:00-13:00 as to get our message across effectively. There will be speakers and entertainment throughout the rally as well as activities and games.
