UNISON was due to meet with Derby City Council today to continue negotiations about the ongoing dispute with schools support staff.
Unfortunately the council asked to postpone the meeting until Tuesday in order to collate more information.
UNISON will obviously meet with the Council on Tuesday as talking remains the only way that this dispute will come to a conclusion. We feel however that UNISON members have been very patient and deserve to know what is being discussed.
There have been some meaningful options proposed during what have been constructive discussions with the council over the last two weeks. Whilst we do not wish to jeopardise those improved relationships they do need to result in tangible improvements for UNISON members. As such UNISON will be updating and consulting members in detail beginning next Thursday.
