Thank you for attending our ‘packed’ lunchtime meeting today.  Those of you who were unable to attend have the opportunity to come along on Friday 27 September at 12 noon to the Council Chamber.  We strongly advise you to come along and find out the council’s latest proposals and make your voice heard before it is too late!

If you work at a school then we are currently organising meetings especially for you which will begin near the beginning of October and they will take place after the end of the school day at a local venue in your area.

If your colleagues have not received this email, please ask them to contact the branch office: unison@derby.gov.uk or 01332 643216/217 and we’ll amend their membership record.

If your colleagues are not already UNISON members then we urge them to join a union.  If they wish they can join UNISON online at http://www.joinunison.org  or to pay subscriptions through their salary, they can contact the branch office to request a membership pack.

Meetings – Monday 23 and Friday 27 September – 12 noon to 1.00 pm

The branch is holding two meetings next week for our members (employed by Derby City Council) to gain feedback regarding the proposed changes to your Terms & Conditions.  You asked for a meeting at the beginning of the week and one at the end so that more people would have the opportunity to attend, we listened and acted upon your request.

The council has agreed that employees will be released with pay to attend.  So come along and together let’s present a united front in the face of these attacks on our Terms and Conditions.

Monday’s meeting will take place in Middleton House in Room 163, 1st Floor from 12noon to 1.00 pm.

Friday’s meeting will take place in the Council Chamber also from 12 noon to 1.00 pm.

Do come along and show your solidarity with your colleagues, as together we are stronger.  We need your input to these negotiations.  We can only make a difference by standing together.

Further meetings are planned for October and November so we can update you on how discussions are progressing, so keep these dates for your diary:
