Individual Agreements Dismissal & Reengagement
At UNISON we realise that these are difficult and unsettling times for our
members and there is a great deal of concern and confusion over the above processes. We are doing all we can to ensure we respond to member queries and raise matters on your behalf with your employer.
Please remember your branch team are here to help and advise and we are very happy to visit workplaces and schools to discuss our advice which remains DO NOT SIGN individual agreements. It is better to have the new Terms &Conditions imposed than to willingly accept by signing Individual Agreements. Most importantly this protects your legal rights.
There have been reports suggesting that Derby City Council have asked Head Teachers to combine signing your Individual Agreement and accepting the schools offer of additional hours.
Please be clear that these are 2 separate issues. We are seeking an opinion on whether this offer is legally questionable. If you remain unsure of your position please call the branch for guidance and support. Keep us informed of any updates regarding additional hours that are made locally as we are not getting this information from DCC.
If you are invited to an Individual Consultation meeting regarding Dismissal & Reengagement please contact the branch and we will try to attend as many as possible. Priority will be given to schools without trained workplace stewards. If your school doesn’t have a steward, you may wish to consider this role or nominate a colleague. Don’t forget we have a meeting at Littleover Community School at 4pm on 9/12/15. This meeting is will focus on non-TA school roles, all are welcome of course, and a further meeting for TAs is planned for early January.
