Derby Homes Update – 11 January 2017

Before Christmas we visited all Derby Homes sites to enable us to better engage with the workforce, as a result of this we now have 15 new members.

A major theme that came out of these visits was a need for training around gaining a better understanding of mental health issues, to enable you to better support service users.

UNISON has a 1 day training course called ‘Mental Health Awareness and Well-being’ which is running on 22 February 2017 in Nottingham and is open to all members. Closing date for applications is 25 January; contact the branch office for an application form on email unison@derby.gov.uk or call 01332 643216/7

We will be on the road again before Easter visiting all sites, make sure to check out our Facebook/website to stay up to date with all the latest news and information.

Many Regards

James Olner and Julie Walker
