Important update from out Branch Secretary – Industrial Action

We have been made aware that some Headteachers are trying to mitigate against the impact of the day of action by e.g changing the work allocation to another day on the same week. This undermines Industrial Action by UNISON members.

Our fellow trade unions , the NUT,NASWT,ATL, NAHT,GMB and UNITE are supportive of the Industrial Action and do not want undermine this action.
By undermining Strike action and the disruption it causes this will prevent DCC from gaining a true picture of the disruption therefore, a true picture of the strength of feeling.

This will not enable DCC to recognise the need to resolve the dispute. By reducing the impact of the Strike, it has the potential to increase the length of time it takes for the true impact to be made which will create additional work for those undermining the Strike  to keep managing work allocation.

We are politely requesting that Headteachers make DCC aware of the ongoing disruption to try and demonstrate to DCC that a conclusion is needed.
